Current show

74 George St, Hadleigh, Suffolk

Despite the potential for archaeological remains from the post Roman to post-medieval periods, no archaeological features or finds other than modern pottery sherds were present.  Cartographic sources indicate that the plot has been an orchard/garden from at least 1839 until the construction of the bungalow in the 1960’s.  The lack of modern disturbance in the stratigraphic sequence surrounding the current dwelling, indicates that the potential for preservation of possible archaeological features elsewhere on the site is good.more info
